GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro and Zepbound (tirzepatide) shrink fat all over your body, but they don’t choose where it comes off, so pockets like the lower belly, love handles and bra line often stay. Once your weight has been steady for a few months, CoolSculpting can reduce those specific areas without surgery or downtime. It reduces fat, not loose skin, so if skin is the main issue, Rebecca will tell you a surgeon is the better path.

GLP-1 medications lower your appetite, so you lose weight across your whole body. Many people find their face and arms slim down first, while the lower belly, love handles or inner thighs barely change.
That isn’t a sign you did anything wrong. Where your body holds on to its last bit of fat is largely set by genetics and hormones. Diet, exercise and medication shrink fat cells everywhere, but some areas have more fat cells, and those are the areas that stay soft.
Many people do, as long as their weight is stable. If you’re still losing weight quickly, it’s usually better to wait so your plan is built around your final shape. The same goes for Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound and compounded semaglutide. Check with your prescribing provider about your medication. Rebecca won’t give medication advice, but she’ll work around your timeline.
They do different jobs. A GLP-1 helps you lose weight across your whole body. CoolSculpting isn’t a weight-loss treatment. It reduces fat in the specific areas that stay after your weight has settled, so many people use a GLP-1 first and CoolSculpting second.
You’re likely a good candidate if most of these are true:
If you’re still losing weight, or the area is mostly loose skin, it’s better to wait or look at other options. Rebecca checks all of this at your free consultation.

After. CoolSculpting works best when you’re at or near your goal weight and your weight has been stable for a few months. If you’re still losing, the area keeps changing, and it’s hard to plan the right treatment.

CoolSculpting Elite cools fat cells to a temperature that damages them without harming your skin. Over the next few months, your body clears those fat cells away. Treated fat cells don’t come back, which is why results can last as long as your weight stays stable.
Common areas after GLP-1 weight loss:
There’s no surgery and no downtime. Most people go back to their day right after treatment. Many areas need more than one session for the result you want, and Rebecca will tell you how many she expects for you before you book anything.
CoolSculpting packages start at $2,000, with a personalized plan built at your free consultation. Payment plans are available.
Yes. Many of Rebecca’s clients are men and busy professionals. For men, the most common areas after GLP-1 weight loss are the belly and love handles, where fat tends to hold on longest.
It also fits a full calendar. Each area takes about 35 minutes with CoolSculpting Elite, there’s no recovery time, and many clients answer email or take calls during treatment. Your consultation can be virtual, from your home or office, so you don’t have to take time off to find out if you’re a good fit.
Some of the weight lost on a GLP-1 can be muscle, which can leave an area looking flat but not firm. Protein and strength training come first. Emsculpt uses electromagnetic energy to cause strong muscle contractions, building muscle in areas like the abdomen and glutes. It adds to protein and strength training and doesn’t replace them.
Some patients pair the two, with CoolSculpting to reduce the stubborn fat and Emsculpt to tone the muscle underneath.
CoolSculpting reduces fat. It does not tighten loose skin. If you lost a large amount of weight and the area is mostly hanging skin rather than pinchable fat, a non-surgical treatment won’t give you the result you want.
Rebecca will check this at your consultation by looking at how much of the area is fat and how much is skin. If a plastic surgeon is the better path, she’ll tell you, even if it means you don’t book with her.
| Your concern | Best fit | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Pinchable fat in one area, weight stable | CoolSculpting | Reduces the fat. No surgery or downtime. |
| Area looks flat but soft, or you lost muscle | Emsculpt | Builds muscle in the treated area. |
| Mostly loose, hanging skin | A plastic surgeon | Usually the better choice for skin. |
| Still losing weight | Wait | Plan treatment once your weight settles. |

No. CoolSculpting isn’t a weight-loss treatment. It reduces fat in the areas treated, which changes your shape more than the number on the scale.
Fat cells removed by CoolSculpting don’t come back. If you regain weight, the remaining fat cells can grow, so keeping your weight stable protects your results.
No. CoolSculpting reduces fat, not skin. If loose skin is your main concern, Rebecca will tell you and point you toward better options.
It depends on the area and how much fat is there. Some areas look great after one session, and others need two or more. Rebecca will give you her estimate at your consultation, before you book anything.
Most people start to notice changes around 4 to 6 weeks, with the full result at about 3 months as your body clears the treated fat cells.
CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared and non-surgical. Common, temporary side effects include redness, swelling, tenderness and numbness. A rare side effect, paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), causes the treated area to grow larger instead of smaller. Rebecca goes over every risk at your consultation.
Packages start at $2,000. Your price depends on the areas and number of sessions in your plan, and you’ll see it before you decide anything.
